Using an energetic motion with biro,  I tap into my  immediate visual memory and  focus on portraying presence, atmosphere and light in preference to outline of form.  In my latest drawings from the imagination,  I start with gesture and pose, or expression of face, and this is sufficient enough to leave out some of the form or outline.
